Rob Smith MBE, from The Active Hands Company, faces the ‘Dragons’ Den’, on Thursday 19th February at 8pm, showcasing his range of gripping aids for those with reduced hand function.
Rob, from the Midlands, created the company after a spinal cord injury in 1996. Frustrated by how his affected hands prevented him from holding gym equipment, he created a range of gripping aids to hold his hands securely around objects needed for daily living.
The Active Hands Company has grown from strength to strength and on Thursday 19th February, Rob and his colleague Jo, will face the Dragons, asking for investment in their company to help spread the word of their gripping solutions and create further growth for their company.
Rob told us, “I really enjoyed the experience and the chance to talk about the business our team have been working so hard to build for so many years.”
Jo agreed, “The crew were so supportive and guide you through the whole process. You’re on your own in there, but you know you have support just outside the door. I’m so excited and nervous to see our pitch on TV!”
We can’t share the outcome, but you can catch their episode on BBC One on 19th February at 8pm, or afterwards on demand on iPlayer. @BBC @BBCiPlayer
