The GlassOuse Wearable Mouse is now in the sale at cost price due to a newer version being available.
The GlassOuse is a lightweight wearable mouse that is activated by slight movements of the head. A standard mouse requires good hand and arm movement to use but some disabilities mean that this is difficult or impossible. The name ‘GlassOuse’ derives from a mouse that you wear like glasses (I guess GlassesMouse was a bit too difficult to say)!
Unlike some other devices that will only link to your computer, the GlassOuse wearable mouse connects directly via Bluetooth to your computer, smart tv, tablet or phone and allows you to move the on-screen pointer with small head movements. Connection is simple, turn on your Bluetooth and select the GlassOuse from the list of available options.
A mouse click is performed using one of the following plug-in switches. There are a range of switches available depending on your needs:
Puff switch: this switch is operated by blowing or puffing onto the sensor. The flexible cable can be positioned so that it is comfortable for you to use.
Touch switch: simply touch anywhere on the top surface of the switch to activate a mouse click. There is an auditory click and tactile feedback to let you know when the mouse has been activated.
Proximity switch: this switch is activated by moving your hand or other body part over the device. There is an auditory click and tactile feedback to let you know when the mouse has been activated.
All switches are connected via the 3.5mm jack and are compatible with other adaptive devices. Please note that the GlassOuse doesn’t come with a switch – this can be ordered with the main unit.
The instruction manual can be found here: instruction manual. GlassOuse can be used in an upright or slightly reclined position. Please do not use it while reclining fully or looking at the ground.
Instructions on how to scroll on an iPhone can be found here.
See the ‘spec’ tab for more information on compatibility with different devices.
