I only have part of a hand – can Active Hands help me?

Some of our aids are better suited to those with limb differences but most will work best if you have a wrist or elbow as they need a wider section to stop them pulling off. The D-Ring aids can be used without any hand parts and can clip onto a karabiner.

We are currently designing an aid that will allow those with finger parts missing to hold items in their palms. Contact our bespoke design team on technical@activehands.com if you are interested in getting a specially designed aid now.

Will Active Hands gripping aids work for me?

Active Hands gripping aids work in many situations for many people. We offer a money back Guarantee on our products so if you buy one and it does not work for you for any reason, just send them back to us within 28 days and, as long as they are in a resaleable condition, we will give you a full refund.

What can Active Hands gripping aids be used for?

How do I know which size will be right for me?

Please use the size guide to estimate the correct sized aid for you. We can exchange items that are the incorrect size as long as they are still in saleable condition with all packaging and labels.

If your measurements fall between two sizes then please purchase the one that is closest to your size. If this does not fit then we can exchange for the next size as long as it is in saleable condition.

If we do not sell a product that fits your measurements (for example if your child is too small to fit our mini aid) we offer a bespoke service. Please note that there is extra cost and time delay associated with this.

You don’t seem to have an aid that will suit me. Do you make bespoke aids?

We like to help as many people as possible who have hand/grip problems, however our standard aids may not suit everyone. If you would like an aid similar in design to those that already exist, but modified to suit your hand/wrist, then please take a look at our bespoke section.

Can I wash my Active Hands product?

All Active Hands gripping aids are machine washable. The gripping aids and heavy duty gripping wrap can be washed at 40°C on the synthetics setting in a washing machine. Do you sell anything other than gripping aids?

Active Hands started out selling only the products that we manufacture and design ourselves. These are the core of our business and we are still passionate about these. However, we realised that there were many products already available that would be beneficial to our customers and so we are stocking these also. We would love to be the ‘go-to’ place for hand function products so that our customers could find all they need on one handy website.

Here are some of our most popular items:

  • Nimble –  a safe, one finger, package opener/cutting tool.
  • Sixth Digit – an extra ‘digit’ for typing and using touch screens.
  • Ungrip – a loop that attaches to your phone to prevent you dropping it.
  • Zubits – magnetic shoe fasteners to replace your laces.
  • Right-angled knives and garden equipment – a range of right-angled kitchen knives and right-angled cultivator and trowel with optional arm cuff.
