The Hand Steady Mug is great for people who have tremors or difficulty in getting a regular mug to their mouth without spilling the contents. The self-stabilising mug remains level as you move it to your mouth due to the rotating handle: keeping the contents safely inside. Despite being made of plastic, the mug still looks like a china mug so you can take it out and about with you.

How the Hand Steady Mug works

The Hand Steady Mug has a handle that rotates 360 degrees. If you wish to increase stability, you can hold it with the handle at 180 degrees to lower the centre of gravity of the mug. If you find a holding your wrist in a different position helps then you can hold the handle sideways. You can fit up to 4 fingers in the large sized handle.

Once your have brought the mug to your mouth you can drink from it in one of the following ways:

  • push it against your mouth to tip the cup
  • use your other hand to tip the cup
  • use your thumb to pivot the cup

The Hand Steady Mug come with a hidden lid that sits inside the cup. This lid keeps drinks hotter for longer and reduced the speed of liquid flow. You can place a straw through the hole if required. The inside of the cup is slightly inclined, which helps with not needing to lift your head back as far.

Hand Steady Mug specifications

The mug weighs 103g (4.5oz) and can hold 250ml (8.5floz). This is 30% lighter than a china cup. It is made of BPA free polypropylene plastic making it microwave safe, dishwasher safe and break proof. It’s also sterlizable, in autoclave machines, and stains can be removed by placing a tea spoon of biocarbonate of soda with water in the cup and leaving for a few hours.
